“There is nothing so American as our national parks. The scenery and the wildlife are native. The fundamental idea behind the parks is native. It is, in brief, that the country belongs to the people, that it is in process of making for the enrichment of the lives of all of us. The parks stand as the outward symbol of the great human principle.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt
The great Franklin D. Roosevelt is right, America’s National Parks are an absolute treasure and to celebrate these beautiful resources and the upcoming National Park Week (April 18 – 26) our team put together some words about our favorite national parks and why they inspire us.
Grand Tetons National Park
“Big mountains and moose! At the time of our visit, there was too much snow to explore the park. One day I hope to go back.” – Christine Norton, Apparel Designer & Developer
Yellowstone National Park
“I grew up with a love of geology and studying rocks, and there is no better place than Yellowstone to see a bunch of really unique geological features. I visited in my youth, and the amazing geothermal features and geysers have held a special place in my heart ever since.” – Cierra Ireland, Graphic Designer
Rocky Mountain National Park
“I love RMNP! It has something for everyone, no matter what season you go. In the summer there’s amazing fly fishing, hikes to high alpine lakes, and 14,000 foot peaks to climb. In the winter there is great backcountry skiing access and showshoeing. And in the fall, a drive over Trail Ridge Road offers amazing leaf peepin’ and wildlife viewing. It’s a playground that’s right in my backyard.” – Ryan Bertrand, Associate Product Manager
Yosemite National Park
“Yosemite Park is massive home to incredible views stunning colors and amazing wildlife. Many incredible hikes for all levels, not far from big cities like SF, L.A., San Jose and Sacramento. There is something for everyone there!” – Amy Novak, Product Manager
Sequoia National Park
“The redwoods in Sequoia National Park are some of the most awe-inspiring entities I’ve ever been surrounded by. They make you feel so small and give some perspective on the true scale of life. There’s so much beauty in that park – from high mountain lakes to dense forest, you can explore so many diverse landscapes that it’s a national park I wish I could just get lost in and wander.” – Zoe Lanterman, Marketing Manager
